Overview

In this page you can search, reply, print and view the latest broadcasts according to your incoming broadcast settings in your profile, for example if you have set your regions to Asia and Europe only, the system will show you broadcasts from these two regions only.

Browsing broadcasts

1. Log into the platform using your username / email address and password.

2. Hover over “Broadcasts” menu located in the top of the page.

3. Click “Browse Broadcasts”.

Search broadcasts

1. Click the “Search” button (in the grey tools bar) to open the search and filter side pane.

2. In the filter and search pane, enter the product or service you are after, you may narrow your search down to a certain company/member, region, country, or the date when the broadcast was created, and finally by category or subcategory.

3. Browse the displayed results and click the broadcast box you are interested in, a window will open with all the details below:

1. Details of the broadcast.

2. Feedback of the member who created the broadcast.

3. If you would like to add this member to your Favourites list, click the heart vector in the top right corner of the member details box.

4. If you would like to add this member your exclude list, click the dislike vector click in the top right corner of the member details box.

5. If the broadcast is “WTS” and has information about the consignment details, you will find “Get A Shipping Quote” button, which you can use to get a quick quote for delivery of this consignment. 

Reply a broadcast

To communicate with the member who created the broadcast, type the message you want to send and click “Reply”.

Print a broadcast

In the broadcast details page, click the “Print” Button.

Dynamic filtering

1. When you are browsing broadcasts or stock, click the main category, region, or country, of your preference and the system will update your view with matching results, for example if you can see a certain product or service is advertised from Sweden, and you would like to view all the Swedish broadcasts, just click Sweden.

2. To reset your view, click the red cross button to clear this dynamic filter.

In this tab you can view and edit, how you would like to receive the platform broadcast notifications.

1. Log into the platform using your username / email address and password.

2. Hover over your profile name in the menu located in the top of the page.

3. Click “My Account”.

4. Click “Notifications Settings” tab.

Default settings Section

1. Select “None” if you do not want to receive any.
2. Select “Email” if you prefer to receive an email per broadcast when the broadcast is sent out.
3. Select “Digest” if you prefer to receive one email digest of all broadcasts per day.
4. Select “Want to sell” if you prefer to receive want to sell broadcast types.
5.  Select “Want to buy” if you prefer to receive want to buy broadcast types.

To give maximum benefits and visibility we created not only comprehensive and detailed broadcast lists but also a filtering system to match.

So in the below table you can select any category or sub category you want to receive its nonfictions, so you may select to receive “ want to sell broadcasts “ for laptop memory , but “want to buy broadcasts “ for laptop hard drives, you may also select to receive your first preference in email fashion and the later in digest fashion, the system has been built to be very flexible to match your trading preferences.

Broadcast settings tab

In this tab you can set your ongoing incoming and outgoing broadcast settings view in the online portal, the options you set this tab will be on going until you change them again.

Incoming settings effect the broadcasts you wish to view when you log in the online portal, and they are as follows:

1. “Account Types” pane includes the account types you would like to receive broadcasts from, for example if you are not interested in importing goods, untick exporter account type.

2. “Regions&Countries” pane enables you to select the location/s you prefer to receive broadcasts from, you may include or exclude a whole continent or a country.

3. “Broadcast Type” options are as follows:

1. “Want To Sell“if you select this option you will view and receive notifications of all broadcasts with equipment or services offered for sale.

2. “Want To Buy“if you select this option you will view and receive notifications of all broadcasts with equipment or services to be sourced.

1. “My Contact Lists” options as follows:

1. “Favourite List”, if you select this option only, you will receive broadcasts from a group of members (irrespective of their location or account type) you added to your “Favourite List” under “My Contact Lists“Sub-menu when you hover over your name in the top right side of the page after your login.

2. “Exclude List” this option enables you to receive broadcasts from a group of members (irrespective of their location or account type) you added to your “Exclude List” under “My Contact Lists “sub-menu when you hover over your name in the top right side of the page after your login.

Outgoing settings effect the broadcasts you wish to send and who will have the right to view and receive them , and they are as follows:

1. “Account Types” pane includes the account types you would like to send broadcasts to, for example if you are not interested in exporting your goods abroad, untick importer account types.

2. “Regions&Countries” pane enables you to select the location/s you prefer to send broadcasts to, you may include or exclude a whole continent or a country.

3. “My Contact Lists” options are as follows:

1. “Favourite List”, if you select this option only, you will send your broadcasts to a group of members (irrespective of their location or account type) you added to your “Favourite List” under “My Contact Lists“Sub-menu when you hover over your name in the top right side of the page after your login.

2. “Exclude List”, this option enables you to stop your broadcasts arriving to a group of members (irrespective of their location or account type) you added members to your “Exclude List” under “My Contact Lists “sub-menu when you hover over your name in the top right side of the page after your login. This option may be useful if you are buying equipment from a member, adding value to it and offering it for sale again, and you may not want this member to receive notification of the same equipment you purchased from him.

Remote broadcasting

This option enables you to set the email address you will use to send broadcasts remotely to the system without logging into the platform.

1. Log into the platform using your username / email address and password.

2. Hover over the broadcast’s menu located in the top of the page.

3. Click “Send A Broadcast” to create a new broadcast.

4. Fill in the broadcast details fields as follows:

5. Select the “Type” field to indicate the purpose of your broadcast whether you want to sell or buy a product or a service.

6. Select the “Main Category” for your broadcast for example  Computers-Laptops, Monitors-Tvs or others, a related subcategory field will appear.

7. Select the “Sub Category” value which matches your broadcast, for example  Pc, Laptop, or others.

8. Drag and drop or browse for an image you may have for what you are broadcasting, this is optional, if you leave it blank the system will use a generic image related to your chosen subcategory.

9. Fill in the “Brand” of the equipment or the name of the service you are broadcasting.

10. Fill in the “Model/Description” of the equipment you are broadcasting.

11. Select the “Condition” of the equipment you are broadcasting.

12. Fill in the “Quantity” of the equipment you are broadcasting.

13. Fill in the “Price” of the equipment you are broadcasting.

14. Select the “Currency” that suits you, bearing in mind the system will suggest your preferred trading currency set in your profile.

15. Select “I Want To Receive Price Offers” if you do not want to set a price for what you are broadcasting and would rather receive offers. Soon we will release an auction system to help you maximising your profits.

16. Click “Choose File” button if you would like to upload a stock breakdown sheet of the equipment you are broadcasting, this is a convenient option which saves time and effort sending the same sheet to every interested member when they request it.

17. You may fill in a customised optional “Message” you want to send with your broadcast.

Who will receive your broadcast?

1. “Use My Default Outgoing Settings” is selected by default and it will send your broadcast according to the outgoing broadcast settings you have set in your account page.

2. If you click “Use Custom One Of Settings” tab, you will be presented with many options which enable you not only to control who will receive your broadcast notification but also who may view it in the platform when they log in, any options you set in this tab will be applied to this broadcast only as a one-off setting.

3. “Send To Companies In My Favourite List Only” this option will send your broadcast to only to the members you added in your favourites list and no one else.

4. “Also Send To Companies In My Exclude List” allows you to send your broadcast to members who are in your exclude list as a one-off setting.

5. “Include Specific Companies Search” allows you to include specific members as a one-off setting.

6. “Exclude Specific Companies Search” enables you to exclude any member as a one-off setting.

Send a link of all your uploaded stock.

Click “Send a link of all my uploaded stock” if you would like to generate a link of all your stock uploaded in the platform and send it with your broadcast.

Overview

• This feature enables you to send email campaigns just like mailchimp.

• Use our email server or enter the details of your email server either way your email shot will look like it came from your server without any reference to our platform.

• Import your customers email addresses, create lists, design email shots, and send them to your customers list only or include the platform members as well.

• You can generate a stock link of all or some of the stock you have uploaded to the platform and place it and in your campaign email body.

• Not only track who opened your email shot but also what links did they click and how many times they clicked it.

Create Marketing Campaign

1. Log into the platform using your username / email address and password.

2. Hover over the” Tools” menu located in the top of the page.

3. Click “Marketing Campaigns” then click “Send Email Shot”.

4. Click the selection menu under “Send to” to choose the recipient/s of your email shot, you may choose to send it to all your uploaded email addresses, or to a particular list/s.

5. Enter the subject for your email shot.

6. Create the content of your email shot.

7. Select “Also send to GICT members” If you would like to send this email shot to the platform members at the same time.

8. Select “Generate Stock Link” to add any links of your stock in your email shot.

9. Click “Send” to populate your emails shot.

Overview

In this page you can add/edit/remove your customers email addresses and the lists they belong to, you can also set your smtp server details. 

1. Log into the platform using your username / email address and password.

2. Hover over the” Tools” menu located in the top of the page.

3. Click “Marketing Campaigns” then click “Manage Audience”.

 Email addresses tab

1. Click “Add New Address” to add a new email address/s.

2. Copy and paste the email address/s you wish to add, or you may choose to upload a txt or csv file which includes the email addresses you wish to add.

3. Select “Add To A Mailing List” if you would like to add the address/s you have pasted/imported to a list, this option is useful if you have categorised your audience according their interest, so you may have a list for your Cisco customers and another for printer consumables customers.

4. Click” Select Existing List” if you have already created a list before or click “Create A New List” and enter the name of your new list.

5. Click “Save”

Add an email address/s to an existing list

1. Click the selection box in the left side of the email address/s you would like to add to a particular list.

2. Click “Add Selection To List”.

3. Click to select from an existing list, or enter the name of a new list and click “Save”

Delete and email address

1. Click the red bin icon in far right of the table to delete any email address you wish to remove.

2. Click the selection box in the left side of the email address/s you would like to delete and click “Delete Selection” red button in the top right side of the table.

Mailing lists tab

Overview

You can view and edit your mailing lists and its members.

Create a new list

1. Click “Create A List”.

2. Enter the name of your new list.

3. Select “Import email to the new mailing list” If you would like to add members to your new list.

4. Click “Save”

Delete a mailing list

• Click the red bin icon in the right side of the table to delete any mailing list you wish to remove.

Remove a member of a mailing list

1. Click the blue edit button in the right side of the mailing list you wish to edit its members.

2. Click the red bin icon in far right of the table to delete any email address you wish to remove from the list.

3. Click the selection box in the left side of the email address/s you would like to delete and click “Delete Selection” red button in the top right side of the table.

Smtp Settings tab

Overview

In this tab you can enter and test your own mailing server details (SMTP) you may acquire this from your company IT team or ISP.

• Enter you SMTP details and click” Test Settings” the details will only work if you get a green successful results message.

In this page not only, you view the history of your campaigns, but also you can track your audience interaction with your campaigns, you can find out who viewed your email shot, how many times they opened it and what links they clicked.

Campaign Reports tab

1. Log into the platform using your username / email address and password.

2. Hover over the” Tools” menu located in the top of the page.

3. Click “Marketing Campaigns” then click “Campaigns Reports”.

4. The system will produce you a table in which you can find the below information about every email you sent out:

5. The “Subject” of the email shot.

6. The “Date” when the email shot was sent.

7. “Opens” How many times your email shot was opened.

8. “Clicks” How many times the links inside your email shot has been clicked.

9. You may click the blue button in the “Details” columns, to find out who opened your email, and clicked your links.

Overview

In this page you can view, add/upload, delete, and broadcast any item of your current uploaded stock.

1. Log into the platform using your username / email address and password.

2. Hover over the” Stock” menu located in the top of the page.

3. Click “My Stock”.

You can add stock line by line or by uploading a stock sheet, also you can contact technical support and have our platform connected to your stock database, so you do not have to maintain your uploaded stock manually.

Adding stock manually

1. Click “Add Stock”.

2. Select your stock main category from the drop-down menu for example computers-Laptops.

3. Select your stock sub category from the drop-down menu example Pc.

4. Fill in the title of your stock for example Hp elite dc 8300, this Title will appear in a quick view of the product.

5. It is not compulsory, but always helps to sell faster to add a real image of your stock item.

6. Fill in the brand of your stock item.

7. Fill in the model of your stock item.

8. Select the condition/grade of your stock item.

9. Fill in the quantity of your stock item.

10. Fill is the price and currency of your stock item or select “I want to receive price offers” if you prefer to receive offers.

11. Fill in a description of your stock and click “Save”.

Adding stock using a stock sheet

1. Click “Add Stock”.

2. Click “Upload Stock Sheet”

3. Select your stock main category from the drop-down menu for example computers-Laptops.

4. Select your stock sub category from the drop-down menu example Pc.

5. Select the condition/grade of your stock item.

6. Fill is the price and currency of your stock item or select “I want to receive price offers” if you prefer to receive offers.

7. Click “Download Sample Sheet” to download a file made according to your entered above details .

8. Open the downloaded file, you will find 2 sheets, one called” Help” which contains information to help you filling the sheet, another called “Items “where you will fill in your products and parts.

9.  Fill in your stock/parts details and save the file.

10. Back to the platform, click “Choose File“and browse to the location of your stock file in your computer/laptop, and click it.

11. Now you should see your stock file title, click “Upload” to finalise the process.

Overview

Once you have uploaded your stock, you can broadcast it for sale, find out what is your most viewed product and who is viewing it, and edit it in any way you want.

1. Log into the platform using your username / email address and password.
2. Hover over the” Stock” menu located in the top of the page.
3. Click “My Stock”.
4. If any of your stock has been viewed by other members, the system will generate you a section of your most viewed item.
5. Following your most viewed items section, you will see grey bar which tells how the quantity of your uploaded titles, and you can also perform the below tasks from this bar:

• Search your stock.

• Bulk edit your stock.

• Bulk delete your stock.

• Add new stock item.

• Change the view of the display between” Grid-List-Table” view

Below the Grey function tool bar, you will be able to view all your uploaded stock, when you hover over any of your products, a display over bar will appear where you can, broadcast this item for buying or selling, find out who has viewed your item, edit the details of this item, or remove this item.

Broadcast an item in your stock

1. Hover over the item, click the broadcast icon.

2. The system will autofill all the details, ready for you to click “Send”

Editing your stock in bulk

1. Click the bulk edit button, it is the second button in the grey function tool bar.

2. Click “Download Stock sheet”

3. When you have finished editing your stock in the downloaded file, save the file and Click “Upload”.

Delete an item in your stock

1. Hover over the item, click the red bin icon.
2. Click “Delete” to confirm.

Delete some of your items in bulk

1. Click the red bin bulk delete icon in the grey tools bar.
2. Choose to delete by Main category, Sub category, or all your stock.

Connect your stock database to the platform

Contact our technical support and have our platform connected to your stock database, so you do not have to maintain your uploaded stock manually.

Overview

In this page you can view all the stock uploaded by others, and send stock inquire/s to any stockist/s.

1. Log into the platform using your username / email address and password.

2. Hover over the” Stock” menu located in the top of the page.

3. Click “Browse Stock” to browse and search for any product or part you are after

4. Click the blue search button in the grey tool bar to open the search and filter side pane.

5. In the filter and search pane, you may choose to search for a product or part, and narrow your search down to a certain company, region, country, date when the stock became available, and finally by category and subcategory.

6. The system will display the results in of your search and filter settings.

7. Click the product or part you are after, and a window will open with all the below details:

*Details of the product or part.

*Details and feedback of the company which stock it, you may add this company to your Favourites or exclude list by using the vectors in the top right corner of the company details box.

*Fill in your inquiry and send it to the stockist, you can also send the same inquiry to all the stockists of this product from the main search page.

Sending a request for quote

1. When you are browsing stock or have searched for a product or part you are after, you may click the selection box in the top left corner of the displayed items, this action will add this item your selection.

2. Click the third button in the grey tool bar “Send request for quote” flying envelope icon.

3. Fill in the message you want to send and click “Send”.

In this page you will be able to view and change some of your company/membership details, renew or upgrade your membership, add sub-accounts, and view feedback left to you by others.

1. Log into the platform using your username / email address and password.

2. Hover over your profile name in the menu located in the top of the page.

3. Click “Company Account”.

Company details tab

The platform admin will use the details shown in this tab to communicate with the account holder.

In this tab you can view all your company and membership details and edit the below.

• The name of the company contact person.

• The position of the company contact person.

• The email address of the company contact person.

• The mobile number of the company contact person.

• The telephone number of the company contact person.

Accreditations tab

In this tab you can view, add and delete your entity accreditations, which will show in your profile and help your trading partners with their business decisions.

1. Click “Add Accreditations”.

2. Enter the name of your accreditations for example iso 27001 or R2.

3. Click “Choose” to browse and upload your accreditation certificate.

4. Click “Submit”to upload your accreditation.

5. Repeat the same process if you have more than one accreditation to upload. 

Company users tab

In this tap you can view, add, and remove sub accounts to your company account. A sub account is basically another user account linked to your company account, it has its own email address, and set of incoming and outgoing settings, this is particularly useful if you want to give access to two different personals in two different departments in your company.

1. Click “Add New User”.

2. Fill in the form.

3. Click “Save”

4. If you would like to remove or edit any account details, click the red button to delete, and the blue one to edit any details

Feedback tab

In this tab you can view, the feedback left to you by others, your feedback average will be tagged to all your broadcasts and company profile when viewed by others.

Overview

In this page you will be able to view and change your account details, broadcast notifications, and notifications settings, any changes you make in this page will be on going until you change them again.

1. Log into the platform using your username / email address and password.

2. Hover over your profile name in the menu located in the top of the page.

3. Click “My Account”.

Account details tab

• In this tab you can view and change your account details except the username and email address, to apply any changes to these 2 fields you need to contact the platform admin.
• The platform will send broadcast notifications to the email address shown in this tab, we recommend creating a dedicated email ie gict@yourdomain.com. Outlook recommendations.
• “Preferred Language” is the default display language linked to your account, if you choose English, not only you will view the platform in English, but also the chat translator will translate all your communication automatically into English irrespective of the language your chatting partner is typing.
• “Preferred Trading Currency” is the default currency to all your broadcasts you send and view in the platform, so if a member sent a broadcast in USD the system will convert this value to your preferred set currency automatically.
• “Time Zone” is important as it reflects in all communication and chats with other members, so if you are replying a broadcast, the platform will let you know the difference between you and the member you are sending to, so you have a clear idea if they may be in working hours or not.

Favourite list tab

1. To add a company, start typing the first 3 charters of its name, the system, will suggest and shortlist the companies that match the data you entered, click the name of the company you would like to add, and it will appear in the table below.

2. To remove a company from the list, click the red bin button under “Actions” column.

The other possible scenario is that your imports originated outside of the EU, but are being shipped across EU country borders on their way to the UK. In this case, duty should have been paid at the point the goods first entered the EU. If this is the case with your business imports, then you should make sure that the proof of payment of initial import duty is always with your goods as they move across Europe.

If the goods you’re moving originate from within the EU, or have already had duty paid elsewhere in the EU, then they are EU acquisitions. They are described as being in ‘free circulation’ within the EU. In this case you don’t usually pay import duty, but you do still need to have a commodity code. This is used to categorise the type of goods, for tax and regulation purposes. You can check the commodity code that should be on your imports, using the trade tariff tool on the UK government website.

Usually you don’t need an import license to bring goods in from the EU, either. However, in some regulated areas, like firearms, this will be necessary.

If you are importing from within the EU, and the goods are in free circulation, then you still need to add their value to your VAT return. You pay VAT at UK rates for any imported goods which are VAT liable. This is currently 20%. However, under certain circumstances you can reclaim the VAT, for example if you’re importing business supplies.

If you’re importing services rather than goods, then VAT rules apply here too. You will need to include the VAT amount on your VAT return, although in most cases this is credited back. There are different rules for some types of services, such as transport, events and catering. The full details can be found on the UK Government website.

Your goods should have a commodity code (as for EU imports), and be declared to customs. Usually your freight forwarder will do this for you. If you are importing restricted goods, you might need a license.

You will usually have to pay import duty (and sometimes associated tariffs) on goods imported to the UK from outside the EU. The exact amount payable depends on what you are importing, and it’s country of origin.

The rules regarding import tariff and the process for declaration are complex. The process for declaring the arrival of duty payable goods is described in the UK Government’s tariff notices(which are not for the faint hearted). And the tariff actually payable can vary, depending on the goods, their origin, their value and how they are to be used. Some goods are duty free, including books, software and some mobile devices, while some have lower ‘preferential’ duty applied depending on their country of origin.

Add to this the requirement that all calculations are done in GBP, according to the tax authorities’ guidelines, despite the fact that you probably paid for the products in a different currency, and it starts to get mind bogglingly complicated.

Because of this level of complexity, businesses importing duty payable goods to the UK often use the services of a freight forwarder or specialist importer. Not only does this keep you on the right side of the law, it ensures that you do not accidentally overpay duty, tariffs or VAT. If you decide to tackle declaring and paying import duty yourself, make sure you familiarise yourself with the UK government’s guide to the law first.

VAT is payable on the full value of goods imported from outside the EU. This means that you must convert the cost of goods to GBP, and then add in any other costs associated with their import such as the duty you have paid, and their insurance costs. You then pay VAT on the whole amount, directly to HMRC. The full detail on how to calculate the value of your goods is available on the HMRC website.

VAT remains at the 20% rate, although there are some exceptions. For example you can pay a lower rate on imports of art or antiques, and you may be able to claim back the VAT paid on business supplies.

No VAT is paid on services imported from outside the EU.

LinkedIn integration activation

1. Log into the platform using your username / email address and password.
2. Hover over your profile name in the menu located in the top right side of the page.
3. Click “Social Media integration”.
4. You will see the LinkedIn grey icon, Click the txt underneath “Click to activate”.
5. You will be moved to LinkedIn login page, enter your login details for LinkedIn, and click to “Sign in”.
6. Click “Allow” to allow our platform to integrate with your account.
7. You will now be moved back to our platform, and our system will send an email to confirm the success of the integration.

LinkedIn integration successful?

1. Our system will send an email to confirm the success of the integration.
2. In “Social Media integration” You will see the LinkedIn grey icon, turned into blue, and the status below will show active.
3. In send a broadcast page you will see the option to “Post to LinkedIn”.

Posting to LinkedIn

1. Fill in your broadcast as you normally do.
2. If you would the broadcast to be posted to your social media account, under “Outgoing settings”, click the social media platform you want to post the broadcast post to.
3. In this case tick “Post to LinkedIn”.
4. You may fill in your Post message, if you leave blank, our system will use your broadcast message for this purpose.

What will your post look like?

1. Your post will include the image you uploaded if you uploaded any.
2. Your post will include the post message you filled, if you left it blank, it will use the broadcast message.
3. At the end of the message the system will append the following details (Your Full name – Your position in the company- company name-company country-your email address).

How to deactivate the link between LinkedIn?

1. Log in to your LinkedIn account.
2. Click your account menu “Me”.
3. This will open a drop menu, click “Settings & Privacy”.
4. Click the “Account” tab.
5. In the left side pane, click “Partners and Services”.
6. In the middle on the page, click “Change” in “Permitted Services”.
7. Find the connection to our network and click “Remove”.

How to leave your feedback?

Method 1, via your trade partner published broadcasts in the platform

Find a broadcast of your trade partner you want to leave feedback for.

1. Click the company name of your trade partner ,this will take you to your trade partner profile page, where you will find your trade partner full address, contact details , how many reviews and ratings they already have.
2. Click the blue button named leave feedback.
3. Leave your feedback in the four areas named accurate grading, communication, dispatch time, customer service, you will also be requested to upload the transaction proof (Invoice) in relation to the feedback you are leaving, this help us minimise fake feedback.

Method 2, Via a link in the notifications you receive by email.

1. Search in your email for a broadcast that has been sent by your trade partner that you want to leave feedback for.
2. At the bottom of the broadcast email you will find a section called feedback where you will find a link called “leave your feedback”  click the link and it will take you to the page where you can leave your feedback in the four areas named accurate grading, communication, dispatch time, customer service, you will also be requested to upload the transaction proof (Invoice) in relation to the feedback you are leaving, this help us minimise fake feedback.

What happens next?

The backend admin will review your transaction proof, validate it and publish your feedback.

Once the feedback is published not only it will show in your trade partner company profile but also will be included with every broadcast, they send out.

FAQ:

When leaving feedback to my trade partners will they know it was me who left the feedback?

No they will not, feedback gets published anonymously without any mentioning of who left it.

When I leave feedback to other traders, will other members know who I have been buying or selling to?

Feedback gets published anonymously, so no one gets to know who you have been trading with.
